Greg Abbott, Open Class Professional Player and Reed Maker
"Everyone knows how I feel about drone valves of any kind. The K-Valves are the only drone valve on the market that I feel perform to expectations. Until K-valves came along I told people to stop muffling up their drones. K-Valves don't take away from the volume of the overall drone sound. Clean, crisp strike-ins and positive cut-offs without the reduction of volume and tone!" Jerry Gibson, Bagpipe Maker "I'm very fussy about my pipes! I will not stand for anything that will detract from the sound I have worked long and hard to produce. The K-Valves do not mask, or degrade the volume and allow the full sound of my drones to come through! Paul Murphy, Grade 3, Windsor Police (former Pipe Major, 87th Cleveland Pipe Band) "The best drone valve on the market today." Ian Evans, Pipe Major, Winnipeg Celtic Pipe Band "The K-Valves are working well in my own pipes as well as all the pipers who have them in my band. I have also had nothing but fantastic comments from some of the pipers in my band that are playing them. One very experienced piper in my band who was very negative about trying them said he is embarrassed about all he said before trying the K-Valves and totally recommends them now." Zach Abbott "After reading the decibel information you provided
and installing the valves, the proof is in the numbers as well as in the
ears. K- Valves result very little if any reduction in
volume. Strike-ins and cut-offs are clean and the valves are easy to install
and set up. I did read the decibel information you provided and the proof is there as well
as in your ears. Great product!"
Howard Allen "Thanks Russ. Got them set up yesterday, they work great. No more trailing drones or missing that last birl because I squeezed the crap out of the bag too soon." Kevin Palm "I just wanted to let you know that I got the valves on Saturday, installed them this morning, and I immediately fell in love with them!! I really didn't realize how attenuated my drones were with the Campbell regulators in place until I struck in with the K-Valves. Wow, what a difference!! It just took me a little time to get used to striking in with them, but I think I've got it down now!! Thanks again for making these, and I'm sorry that I hemmed and hawed about them for so long! " Rick Prosser "After I installed the K-valves, I could blow up the bag completely (full of air, but no extra pressure) without squealing drones. I could get clean cutoffs with the bag still 1/2 full of air. I did not detect any muffling of drones, and any extra pressure required for playing was not noticable." George Thompson "Thanks, Russ! I am using your K-valves in both my McCleod and my MacLellan
bagpipes, with great success! Consider this a testimonial!"
Dennis Duncan "I have to say after using the drone valves now for about 6 months, I love them even more. I have not had the "PM look" after cut offs for trailing drones. I am able to play the tune to the end and get in that last note without having to try and squeeze the life out of the bag for that last ounce of air. I highly recommend them to anyone who plays, not a crutch but an aid to help you play better." Don Goller, P/M. Harp and Thistle Pipe Band, Naples, Florida Russ, I'm impressed, the valves are everything you said they would be. I will have the entire competition pipe section using your valves. I've recommended to the performance band that they purchase your valves, so I'm sure your be hearing from them in the near future. Barry, Pittsburgh, PA I have been playing K-Valves for about 6 weeks. They are FABULOUS. You can fill the bag about full with air, then just a tap on the bag gets the drones going and there is little or no reduction in drone volume. They make strike-ins more manageable, and clean cut-offs idiot-proof. Seriously, one of the best bagpipe products I have tried. I wouldn't be without these from now on. I don't see why anyone using drone valves, regulators, or enhancers would want anything else. Well done, and thank you. Gord, Canada I am in my mid-forties and have been on the pipes for about
a year. I was having a heck of a time getting all the drones to strike in
cleanly (it would usually take me at least 2 tries each time we started a tune in
the circle at band practice to get them all going without howling and
squealing.) Cutoffs were also a huge problem for me, as I had to squeeze the
heck out of the bag, and as I often wasn't timing things correctly I would run
short of air before the end of the tune. The PM adjusted my drones for me and
it helped immensely, but consistent strike ins and cutoffs that didn't end
"too soon" were still a problem for me. Then I read about K-Valves on
this forum.......so I bought a set. Phil, Twining, MI |
